Soulja Boy Dropped $55 Million On ________ For His Birthday

According to TMZ, Soulja Boy found nothing better to do with his “hard earned” money but to buy a private jet.

Soulja Boy doesn’t know the meaning of the word recession — because TMZ has learned, the 21-year-old rapper is dropping $55 MILLION on a new private jet.

A member of Soulja’s management team tells us … the kid bought himself a G5 jet as a birthday present to himself this week.

The jet cost $35 mil … but that’s just the beginning. We’re told the birthday boy is dropping an additional $20 million to pimp out his ride with all sorts of cool stuff … like 12 custom Italian leather seats, flat screen TVs, 4 liquor bars, a special travertine tiled floor, and Brazilian hardwood cabinets.

We’re told S.B. is also gutting the in-flight lavatory — and replacing it with a giant, LUXURIOUS bathroom. Oh, he’s also giving the jet a custom paint job … to include his logo.

And if that’s not enough for someone’s 21st — we’re told Soulja’s also spending $300,000 to throw himself a blowout birthday party at a Miami nightclub tonight … and Dwight Howard, Bow Wow, and Sean Kingston are all expected to attend.

Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Williams, Baby, aka Birdman, Kim Porter

Vanessa Williams
One of rap mogul Sean Combs’ concubines, Kim Porter, was seen leaving the Villa Blanca restaurant in Beverly Hills, CA where she dined with friends yesterday. The 45-year-old beauty spends her days leisurely shopping for trinkets while her brood are in school. Porter and her kids live in a 9,655-square-foot, six bedroom mansion that Combs purchased for her in Toluca Lake, California.

Kim Kardashian was spotted leaving the Agent Provocateur store in Los Angeles, California yesterday with a huge gold shopping bag full of goodies. The store accommodated the soon-to-be wife of NBA star Kris Humphries by opening up after hours just so she could shop in peace (and spends thousands of dollars in reality TV show cash).

Baby, aka Birdman,

Keri Hilson

Singer Keri Hilson was spotted outside the New York offices of Elle magazine yesterday. Is it just us or does Keri look distraught? Yesterday we reached out to Keri Hilson’s camp to offer words of encouragement after she was unmercifully dragged all over the social networking site Twitter.com for tweeting an insensitive message about deceased singer Amy Winehouse.

Young Jeezy Arrested for Driving While Black in Atlanta

Young Jeezy: his victorious comeback TM 103 promo concert in New York City drew such Hip Hop heavyweights as Jay Z and Kanye West to the stage on Monday. But his big comeback was marred by an incident that occurred 2 days before the concert. According to celebrity blogger Michelle ofStraightfromthea.com, the Thug Motivation rapper was pulled over and almost arrested in upscale Buckhead (an Atlanta suburb) on Saturday, July 24.
Michelle posted these Exclusive pictures of Jeezy being harassed by the Atlanta PD. Jeezy seems to be taking it well as he calmly explains his situation to the cops. We don’t know the details of Jeezy’s traffic infraction, or if he was even ticketed. It’s almost a routine occurrence to be pulled over if you’re driving while Black in Buckhead. Especially if you’re behind the wheel of a brand new $150,000 Ferrari California.

News: Reggie Bush Closing On Deal With Miami Dolphins

Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland grinded into the early morning Thursday as Miami neared a trade agreement with the Saints that would send Reggie Bush to Miami. reland had not yet pulled the trigger on the deal in the middle of the night, and Bush still would have the option to accept the renegotiated terms of the contract, but everyone was headed in the right direction, sources said. Ireland eventually wanted to sleep on the possibility, meaning the trade isn’t likely to be finalized until a more reasonable hour Thursday morning. The two teams agreed on their terms for the trade, but the contract negotiations remained the outstanding issue.
The Saints were planning to eventually release Bush because of a contract that owed him $11.8 million in base salary and bonuses.

Once New Orleans selected running back Mark Ingram in the first round of April’s draft, Bush’s eventual departure became all the more clear. But before New Orleans was to part ways, the team first began testing the waters to see if it could gain some compensation from an organization wishing to avoid a competition for his services. Ireland decided to make the move. The Herald’s sources did not disclose the exact compensation of the potential deal because the trade was not yet finalized, but it is not expected to be an early-round pick. Instead, the true challenge remains getting Bush to agree to the restructured contract.

Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer, who first reported that Miami and New Orleans had agreed to terms for a trade, said the deal was contingent on Bush agreeing to a new contract with the Dolphins. He could choose to return to New Orleans at a reduced rate. As of early Thursday morning, that did not appear to be a major obstacle, and Bush seemed willing to make the move, sources said.

Should the trade be consummated, the Dolphins would acquire a dynamic player they hope will provide the lightning to rookie Daniel Thomas’ thunder. Bush would also provide a much-needed threat in the return game.

MSNBC Contributor Says “Corporate America Is Raping Minorities”

Taylor was asked about the catastrophic effect of the recession on minorities and she went IN on the folks she feels are responsible:

“Catastrophic is right, you know. If you look at African-american and Hispanic households, fully a third of them report zero wealth. Not even a dollar in positive wealth. A lot of that wealth was tied up in the homes that they spent more than 75% of their income either buying or maintaining, and so when those homes were taken away, the wealth went with it.

“If you put on top of that affordable health care and access to health insurance, then, you know, most of the bankruptcies in this country, especially from black and brown people, are driven because of health care costs, and so when you ask yourself what has happened to black and brown Americans, I can tell you what happened to them.

“Corporate America happened to them. People who are, you know, literally raping these people over medical costs, exorbitant medical costs and then to turn around and swipe the homes that they worked their lives to build, you know, over some subprime lending issues. So I think that we ought to re-examine our priorities as a country and re-examine how to go forward. I don’t think that’s the America we’re banking on, the America we all believe in.”

KELLY ROWLAND COVERS VIBE’S ‘JUICE’ ISSUE

Singer Kelly Rowland shows some skin on the August/Septemeber Juice issue of VIBE magazine. In the interview Kelly opens up about what it felt like to finally depart from the management of Mathew Knowles and how she grew into her sexuality while working on this album. Peep a snippet below. Looking great, Kelly! Ow!

On whether she felt more appreciated in Europe with her last album:
Kelly Rowland: No, not really. People still compare me to B over there. I said in an interview recently, ‘You know, if you guys would be a little bit more intelligent and ask me about myself we’ll have a much better interview.’ You can’t want a story from me and keep asking me about the past.

On whether she felt relieved after deciding to depart from Mathew Knowles’ management:
I did, but I also felt like, ‘Oh my God, what have I done?!’ I stayed in the house for two days. I was sad. It was like a funeral. I had to deaden that situation in order to start fresh. That’s a very long time to have the same manager and the same label.

On whether she thought “Motivation” was too racy for her image:
Not at all. Every woman knows what that feels like—hopefully. But everyone doesn’t expect Kelly to sing about it. This is true. But I just loved the song so much. And yes, I can relate to it. I came into my sexuality while I was recording this album. I can walk into a sex shop now and not worry about what people would say if they saw me in there. [Read more]

The August/September issue hits stands on August 16th!
