William And Kate Are Now The Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge

After weeks of media-induced anticipation, the world witnessed the wedding of Prince Williams of Wales and Catherine Middleton this morning. And after all of that, she doesn’t even get to be a princess, technically.

Kate emerged from Westminster Abbey as Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge.

The newly-wed royal was handed the title as her husband Prince William was given the title — the highest rank in British peerage — by his grandmother, the Queen.

William, 28, will also become the Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus, which means Kate will become the Countess of Strathearn and Baroness Carrickfergus.

All titles are a gift from the Queen and it was up to the monarch to choose which one to bestow on her grandson and his new wife.

Tradition dictates that Royal men receive a title on their wedding — and often more than one.

Buckingham Palace said in a statement: “The Queen has today been pleased to confer a Dukedom on Prince William of Wales.

“His titles will be Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus.

“Prince William thus becomes His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge and Miss Catherine Middleton on marriage will become Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge.”

As well as a duchess, Kate, 29, is also technically Princess William of Wales.

Yes: to be a princess, she has to even give up her first name.

Catherine wore a long-sleeved, sweetheart-neckline gown with lace overlay, designed by Sarah Burton, creative director of luxury at Alexander McQueen. It had an almost 9-foot train. Her “something borrowed” was a tiara from the Queen of England.

Jennifer Hudson Reveals She Was Discrimated Against Before She Lost Weight

Singer Jennifer Hudson has been having a good year, complete with endorsement deals, a European promo tour and magazine covers, however, she recently revealed that people weren’t always so receptive to her image. In an interview with Grazia Magazine, she discussed her weight loss, being discriminated against in Hollywood for being heavy, and how she never thought there was an issue with her fuller figure until she lost weight. She tells the publication:

“Last week I saw some footage of myself as I was five years ago and I was surprised. It was like I recognized myself but I didn’t. It seemed another world away. But in this slim world I do now realize I was being discriminated against. I’m offered more parts. There is much more excitement about me now.”

On Believing Her Fuller Figure Was Normal
“I never thought I was overweight. I thought my old look was pretty normal. That was how all the girls looked growing up in Chicago. I didn’t have any problem with it. It makes me smile to think back to myself when I did ‘Dreamgirls’ with Beyonce. I did see all these women in Hollywood, all very slim and I thought, ‘Wow, these ladies are very into themselves.’ I loved that I stood out in a room. You knew when you saw this woman it was Jennifer Hudson.”

On The Benefits of Fitting Into Hollywood
“There have been times when it’s a huge high, like when I walked the red carpet at the Oscars and people were screaming at me. Then I also had dinner with Beyonce and Alicia Keys and they just kept going on and on about how great I looked.”

She also tells AOL:

The reaction is like a whole new world with the new image. That’s another reason I feel like a whole new person and [at] times … I forget [about] my new image because my mind has not caught up with my physical yet. But everything is worlds-apart different and it’s like being introduced to a whole new world in every single way you can imagine. What I mean is from being on the other side as a plus-size girl versus now you would never know what you’re being discriminated against until you cross to the other side. So now being on this side — people are different. There’s a whole lot more opportunities, people are more friendly.

It’s amazing how obsessed Hollywood is with weight and J Hud is a walking testament of how different people treat you when you have a little meat on your bones. Last April, she told the press, “I’m alright with not being a size 2″. Since then, she’s dropped from a size 16 to a size 6 and is now considered a walking billboard.

TBS Cancels Tyler Perry’s ‘House Of Payne’ And Gives Him New Sitcom

TBS wants no more of Tyler Perry’s ‘House Of Payne’… but that doesn’t mean they don’t appreciate how Tyler’s shows make it rain on their ratings.

For his next trick, Tyler Perry is bringing the two hood-est characters from his film “Why Did I Get Married?” to the small screen. TBS has ordered ten episodes of the new show “For Better Or For Worse,” which will follow the lives of Tasha Smith and Michael Jai White’s characters Marcus and Angela… you know, the loud, angry Black wife and her can’t-get-right husband with the baby mama drama. Unlike the other Tyler Perry sitcoms, this one is targeting young adults, not families.

No word on whether any of the less stereotypically disfunctional “Why Did I Get Married?” couples will be featured on the show at all.

In a statement, TBS’s executive VP of programming Michael Wright said TBS’s decision to bring a new Perry sitcom in was the success his shows have had in making TBS “a prime destination for African-American viewers.”

“Given such a remarkable track record,” he added, “we’re excited for the opportunity to expand our relationship with Tyler Perry and Debmar-Mercury with the new series ‘For Better or Worse.”

No word on why, despite all of that “success,” “House of Payne,” which brought Perry to TBS is being cancelled after 5 years and 7 seasons.

Tyler Perry didn’t sound too concerned in the announcement press release either.

“Even though it will be sad to say goodbye to House of Payne, I’m really looking forward to exploring new territory with For Better or Worse,” said Tyler Perry. “Working on House of Payne taught me a lot about what it takes to make a successful television series and I’m looking forward to applying that experience to For Better or Worse.”

The new show will start production in Atlanta this summer. No word on when the last episode of “House of Payne” will air.

TMZ reports Dwight Howard has taken another step in trying to get half a million dollars from his Celebreality baby mama Royce Reed.

Dwight Howard won a $500,000 judgment against his baby mama in the state of Florida for talking smack about him — but she hasn’t paid up, so he’s going after her in California.

Howard won the judgment against Royce Reed for half a mil last year because she violated a court order, prohibiting her from talking about him in the press.

Howard claims Reed now owes him $551,606.74 — which includes interest. So Howard has filed papers with a California court, which could give Howard the right to go after Reed’s assets in Cali.
