With the voting season approaching fast, President Barack Obama is making his rounds for re-election. The commander-in-chief is on the cover of the May 2012 issue of ‘Rolling Stone’ magazine. Inside the edition, Obama talked a bit about the Republican candidate Mitt Romney, whether he was nervous about singing at the Apollo theater and shared his candid thoughts on race and it’s role in his re-election:

“Race has been one of the fault lines in American culture and American politics from the start. I never bought into the notion that by electing me, somehow we were entering into a post-racial period. On the other hand, I’ve seen in my own lifetime how racial attitudes have changed and improved, and anybody who suggests that they haven’t isn’t paying attention or is trying to make a rhetorical point. Because we all see it every day, and me being in this Oval Office is a testimony to changes that have been taking place.
My view on race has always been that it’s complicated. It’s not just a matter of head – it’s a matter of heart. It’s about interactions. What happens in the workplace, in schools, on sports fields, and through music and culture shapes racial attitudes as much as any legislation that’s passed. I do believe that we’re making slow and steady progress. When I talk to Malia and Sasha, the world they’re growing up with, with their friends, is just very different from the world that you and I grew up with.” [SOURCE]

President Barack Obama poked fun at himself, Republican opponents, the Secret Service and more during the 98th annual White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner held on Sat., April 28, at the Washington Hilton.
He noted that he and presumed Republican nominee Mitt Romney both have degrees from Harvard, but Mr. Romney has two. The President joked, “What a snob.” He also revealed the “secret agenda” expected from his second term in office: “In my first term, I sang Al Green. Shaq Shows Off His Boo Hoopz Down At Comedy Club

A few months ago, rumors were circulating the internet that Shaq and Hoopz had broken up after he appeared at his 40th birthday party without her in Vegas. There were even a few stories of him kicking her out of his home. Well, it looks as though the couple are still going strong and are happier than ever:
The “C If U Can Make Shaq Laugh” competition challenged consumers to break out their comedy chops and make TNT sportscaster and entertainer Shaq laugh. Three finalists were selected to meet Shaq and perform their act live in front of a panel of judges and party goers. The winning act received a $5,000 cash prize and the notoriety of making Shaq laugh!
The winner Devon Jones was more than thrilled to be crowned champion!
At one point, Shaq called his girlfriend up to the stage who lovingly jumped into his open arms. I must say as an eyewitness, the two genuinely displayed love and affection to each other throughout the night.
It’s obvious the two are still head over heels crazy about each other and weren’t afraid to show it. They couldn’t keep their hands off of each other!

Rihanna Has First Cover Photoshoot With Harper’s Bazaar

This morning, almost every (urban) entertainment blog posted photos of Deion Sanders hugged up with Tracey Edmonds at the Broadhurst Theater in New York. I’m sure that you guys have learned by now that it’s some sh*t that I just don’t post…and those pics were one of those things. If he would’ve been photo’ed pulling out one of her breasts and devouring it on spot, then yea. Beyond something like that, it wasn’t news to me but I digress.
However, those pics became somewhat interesting after Deion took to his Twitter account to report that he and his children were filing police reports against Pilar Sanders because she (along with a friend) jumped him.

Now, I dunno if the attached photos are the REAL reason that Pilar went apeshit but goodness. She’s fine AND crazy?
Although the TBC (Twitter Bullshit Choir) thought that it was silly for Deion to even tweet about the madness, in his defense, he’s kept it somewhat cute throughout this whole divorce drama. My only question is does he have any sisters that could tap Pilar’s ass on his behalf? Ridiculous.

New Video: Brianna Perry – “Dear Hip-Hop”

It’s hard out here for women in Hip Hop. And although the door has been kicked wide open for up and coming rap chicks since the emergence of Nicki Minaj, they are still finding it hard to get the respect that they are due.
Brianna Perry is a Miami-bred rapper on the come up and she is airing out her grievances with the rap industry on a track titled, ‘Dear Hip Hop’. In the letter to ‘Hip Hop’, which uses a sample of Carrie Underwood’s ‘Before He Cheats’ for the chorus, she raps about not being respected enough to make it to XXL’s Freshman Class cover (that cover sure did create a lot of controversy didn’t it?)  or MTV’s Hottest MCs list. Meanwhile, she uses an ignited copy of this year’s Freshmen Class Issue   as a backdrop to the video.   She also  lists a few reasons why she probably doesn’t have a bigger buzz.

Earlier this year, Beyonce posted Brianna’s ‘Marilyn Monroe’ mixtape track on her official website, so it looks as though someone is taking notice. A Beyonce, Jay-z or Kanye co-sign is major (ask Azealia).

Meagan Good has plenty reasons to keep a smile on her face. One, being that she just got engaged to an amazing guy and of course, being a part of the #1 movie in the country isn’t so bad either.  In good spirits, she shared a sneak peak of her upcoming Fearless Magazine cover over the weekend which features her trading in her bright smile for a more sensual look as she poses in a colorblocking dress.
The cover was photographed by Steven Kay and styled by Dee Dee Kelly and Arian Simone.  A few months ago, Fearless Magazine publisher Arian Simone, brought in Meagan Good and actress Bre’ly Evans to empower a group of young girls who are a part of the ‘Fearless Girls Club’. Meagan helped change the girls lives as she shared with them a message on having a purpose in life as well as a few of her own personal stories and struggles.

‘I’ve been taking care of my whole family financially since I was 14. My oldest brother has a learning disability and brain damage since he was a kid. My youngest sister is adopted. My older sister and mom are retired. I’ve had that on my shoulder my whole life pretty much.  What’s kept me grounded through all of the things I’ve been through and constantly been through is prayer.  Every morning before I get up and start my day I pray. For God to give me strength, to give me vision, to tell me what to do. How to live, sometimes what to wear and I try to read some of my bible.  It always uplifts me to the point where I feel that I have the energy and the strength to get through whatever the day brings and gives to me.  I promise to God that when I don’t read my bible [and pray], my day is totally different. Every time that I do that, no matter what happens, I am more equipped to handle the things that I may not have thought I could handle if I didn’t start my day like that. God can change circumstances and it starts inside of us and works it’s way out.

Rihanna Gets Her Dance Moves Together For “Where Have You Been” Music Video

If you thought Rihanna wasn’t much of a dancer, then you can guess again. She’s putting in some serious footwork in the upcoming video for her high-energy ‘Talk That Talk‘ track ‘Where Have You Been’.
In the first behind the scenes clip she’s releasing to build up anticipation for the already longed-for video, she takes us behind the scenes of a two-day choreography rehearsal during which she does her best to get all the steps down and evoke the emotion of the song through her body. Rihanna says she normally doesn’t do much dancing because she doesn’t have time to rehearse and make up dance moves due to her outrageous schedule, but getting the steps right was really important for this video.

“I was never going to shoot this video if I couldn’t do choreography because It would be pointless. It would be disappointing.”

Rihanna was so serious about getting the moves right for the video she ate her dinner while dancing during day one.
Now that Rih Rih is dancing, she’s really about to be untouchable. Watch out now!

Nicki Minaj: ‘A Voice In My Head Told Me To Delete My Twitter’

Nicki Minaj looked like a six year old’s dream gift set as she hit her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded album signing this evening.  Dressed up as all of the toys we loved when we were younger, she hit the step and repeat dressed in a pink Barbie skirt, Troll leggings and a Hello Kitty embroidered hat.  She also added 7 inches to her height in a pair of stacked Demonia platform Goth boots .
In other news, during her stop to the Graham Norton show which airs Friday, she discussed her recent decision to delete her twitter account:

A voice in my head told me to delete my Twitter and that’s what I did.  I had 11 million followers and I hope they will wait for me. I reply all the time and get to know them by name and I have a really personal bond with them… not all 11 million, but at least 10 of them a day.

When asked if she would return to twitter, she said:

I don’t know yet, I’m thinking about it. I miss my Barbz, please bear with me.
