Cruise, 49, and Holmes, 33, were married in Italy in 2006 after a whirlwind (read: Dopamine-fueled) romance. It was the third marriage for Cruise.
The couple have a 6-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise. Cruise also has two grown children he adopted with ex-wife, actress Nicole Kidman.
This is why couples should wait until the dopamine highs fade before they marry. That’s the only way to tell if it’s really true love.
You should be especially cautious if the man (or woman) you are betrothed to has already been down the aisle multiple times. He or she may be a love addict.
Relationships that are described as “whirlwind” or “crazy in love” usually always fizzle out and end badly.
