The gala event, hosted by ABC’s Deborah Roberts and Taraji P. Henson, was the culmination for the week-long “Mary J. Blige Honors Women”, which sought to raise $5 million for her foundation and provide scholarships to graduating seniors atWomen’s Academy of Excellence, the only public all-girls school in the Bronx where more than half of the students receive public assistance.
