Ray J Snags A Television Gig

Ray J has finally come out from under the umbrella of the Whitney Houston drama and has gotten himself a new gig on TV!
He will star in the new TV One sitcom, ‘The Rickey Smiley Show’, based loosely on the life of popular morning show Rickey Smiley. Rickey Smiley will be playing the part of a popular, local DJ from Atlanta who is a single father raising his three kids all while trying to maintain a personal life and deal with the hilarious situations that arise at the station. Ray J, meanwhile, will play Rickey’s producer and protégé named Kenny Wheil.
Other familiar faces will include, funny man J. Anthony Brown, who plays Maurice, the radio station’s manager, Demetria McKinney (‘House of Payne’) as Rickey’s ex-wife Monica and Lil JJ as Rickey Smiley’s 18-year-old son Brandon.
The show will premiere this Fall, in September, and will feature an array of guests during it’s 10 episodes including Bruce Bruce and Waka Flocka Flame.
Good for Ray J!  He hasn’t been a regular on a scripted show since ‘Moesha’ and a few guest appearances on ‘One on One’.
