Tyrese Banned From Delaware Radio Station for Calling Listeners “Homies”

All of Tyrese’s Delaware fans are crying a river this morning, now that they won’t be hearing any music from Tyrese on the biggest urban station in the state following an incident that happened earlier this week. On Monday, Tyrese was kicked out of a radio station for what he says was because he took an on-air stance against liquor stores being located near schools. He tweeted that the ‘PD,’ or Program Director, had a problem with his opinion:

“just kicked out of a radio station frm a PD who had a problem w/ me speaking on liquor stores that are by elementary schools in Delaware. In 17 years I hv NEVER been kicked out of a radio station.. Because I have a problem w/ liquor stores being across from elementary schools?

I was also told that the PD made them ERASE my interview so that NO ONE could HEAR me SPEAK on the issue of the liqour stores near kids.

According to KISS 101.7 PD Tony Quartarone he felt as though Tyrese disrespected the listeners by calling them ‘homies’ :

Tyrese was not kicked off the air for pointing out that liquor stores should not be located near schools … I totally agree with that. But … he proceeded to downgrade my audience by calling them ‘homies.’”

Tony went on to say that Tyrese was being condescending with his language, and then was asked to leave the building. He had made the decision that until Tyrese apologizes for his behavior and tweets, his music will not be played on KISS airwaves.

Tyrese, however, could care less. He tweeted:

The PD has been trying lies from that station.. None of the people at ur station like you.. And Delaware is gonna take good care of you..

He also called into ‘TMZ Live’ to tell his side of the story and he said that he didn’t care one way or another about his music being taken off of the stations rotation.
